April is Autism Awareness Month and Sunshine Village participated in several events throughout the local area to help raise awareness and support for people on the autism spectrum.
The organization designed and decorated the display window of the Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce. The iconic puzzle pieces and other crafted decorations were created within the programs offered in Chicopee locations. These programs also decorated the windows of the Emily L. Partyka Central Library in Chicopee.
Sunshine Village also “lit up” the Mayor’s Hallway in Chiopee City Hall with artwork themed in blue. The art was created by artists with unique abilities who are supported by Sunshine Village in day programs located in Chicopee, Springfield, Three Rivers and Westfield.
Both exhibits will be on display throughout the month of April.
Sunshine Village participated in Transition Fairs during the month at schools in Chicopee, Holyoke and Springfield and visited several fire and police stations to thank first responders for the important work they do each day.
