We believe that everyone who wants to work should be given the support to do so, despite level of ability. We’ve spent decades forging partnerships with organizations and businesses throughout the region who believe this too. Through these partnerships, we’ve created programs to help local employers address workforce issues, while also offering paid work opportunities – and so much more – to people with disabilities.
From a practical business perspective, working with Sunshine Village makes a lot of sense. But our business partners tell us it’s about a lot more than that. They talk about the intangible benefits they get – the loyal, hardworking employees who become valuable members of a team, whose tenacity and resilience inspires other employees.
Companies also tell us that their stakeholders – from customers and vendors to board members – place a premium on corporate responsibility. Providing employment to people with disabilities receives high marks, both in terms of corporate responsibility and goodwill.
At Enclaves, we provide a supervised group of dependable employees who work on site at businesses throughout Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Each site is an integrated environment where people with and without disabilities work together, resulting in natural mentorship and support.
Our agency-operated fulfillment business currently fulfills contract orders for more than 20 businesses. Village Works employs 28 people with and without disabilities who work as a team to provide assembly, packaging, hot glue application, shrink wrapping, liquid pouring and more.
Sunshine Village matches individual employees with local businesses where they work independently. We provide one-on-one job coaching to assess the scenario, help with training and ensure that each match is beneficial to both employee and employer.
